GBV epidemic | Abused women urged to seek help at local pharmacies

JOHANNESBURG – Abused women are being urged to seek help and care at their nearest community pharmacy.

The Independent Community Pharmacy Association has undertaken a Safe Spaces initiative.

“A pharmacy is a none stigmatised environment, you could be going into a pharmacy for anything from paracetamol to shaving foam,” said Independent Community Pharmacy Association CEO Jackie Maimin.

“Nobody knows why you are going into a pharmacy and once you are in there you can access your pharmacist who will always have an ear to whatever challenges you are experiencing.”
